Ipe 5/4x12 Dimensional Lumber
Ipe (pronounced ee-pay) is one of the densest hardwoods available for outdoor construction. Ipe 5/4x12 is very dense (in fact it sinks in water), it has the same fire rating as concrete and steel, and it is mildew and decay resistant. Its denseness and natural oils make it virtually impenetrable to insects (so insect deterioration is not an issue). Ipe 5/4x12 does not scratch or splinter easily, it does not become hot in the sun, and has a high friction coefficient, making it perfect for outdoor and seaside construction.

Piquia is also known as White Iron Wood as the name implies is a light colored hardwood that is resistant to climate and wear. Piquia 4x4 Standard is a yellowish or light grayish brown wood with interlocked grain. Piquia is originally from forests that primarily grow in the Amazon region of Brazil, and we are glad to be authorized distributors. Like other hardwoods, Piquia is used for exterior constructions.
