Traditional metal flashing uses nails or screws to secure the top lip to the side of the house, thus creating an unsealed hole. Even when covered by house wrap and siding, there is still an unsealed hole in the side of the building.

WiseWrap® LedgerTape® is self-adhesive as well as self-sealing and does not require nails or screws to secure to the side of the house, eliminating unsealed holes.
Any nail or screw that might penetrate the deck flashing tape will instantly be sealed around to prevent moisture from ever entering the hole. Likewise, lag bolts and even staples are automatically sealed to avoid moisture intrusion.
