IPE OIL HARDWOOD DECK FINISH SPECIFICATIONS
IPE OIL HARDWOOD DECK FINISH is an oil-based natural wood finish and protectant. Enhance the beauty of your hardwood deck and protect it from damaging sun UV, harsh , toxic mold and mildew at the same time. IPE OIL HARDWOOD DECK FINISH is specifically formulated to protect as well as preserve the natural beauty of exterior hardwood decks. This finish is not just for use on deck boards; it penetrates into the densest hardwood fences and wood railings as well.
IPE OIL HARDWOOD DECK FINISH works with all Brazilian hardwoods and American hardwood products. Deckwise does not recommend use with soft woods. The exception to that is Cedar decking. DeckWise Ipe Oil is compatible with softwood Cedar, however it may require more than one coat. Ipe Oil is not for use with yellow pine.
DeckWise Ipe Oil is a low-odor low VOC formula comes in a natural transparent tone to enhance the appearance of any hardwood species, and the Ipe Oil Hardwood Deck Finish formula contains Transoxide pigments which provide added grain enhancement. Ipe Oil is easy-to-use with three simple steps: 1. Clean and Brighten the deck surface and let dry 2. Apply Ipe Oil Hardwood deck finish 3. Wipe any excess Ipe Oil

Drying Time
- Temperature, wood, and humidity all effect drying time. Allow 24 hours in most applications.
Approximate Coverage per Gallon*
- Smooth Wood: 200-300 sq ft / gallon
- Rough Wood: 150-250 sq ft / gallon

Surface preparation and application
It is recommended to sand new wood decking with 80-120 grit sandpaper prior to allying Ipe Oil™ Hardwood Finish to open the wood’s pores and allow natural oils to come to the surface. Always clean older gray or dirty wood decking before applying Ipe Oil™ Hardwood Finish. Use a product like DeckWise® Part 1 Wood Cleaner and DeckWise Part 2 Wood Brightener to clean hardwood decks. Then, allow wood decking to completely dry for at least 24 to 48 hours. Previously stained or treated wood should be sufficiently weathered to allow for complete penetration of Ipe Oil™ Hardwood Finish. New wood should be aged at least 6-8 weeks and cleaned before applying product.
Caution
Do not leave rags in a pile, they will self-combust or catch fire. Rags, brushes, rollers, steel wool, or waste soaked with Ipe Oil™ Hardwood Deck Finish may also spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded. Immediately after each use, place waste materials in a sealed, water-filled metal container. Dispose of empty cans or unused portions in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.

Ipe Oil is a low 250 g/1VOC wood coating stain that can bo sold into all US Statos with the oxcoption of the South Coast AQMDs Jurisdiction in California. Tho South Coast AQMD (5CAQMD) region requires wood coatings to have no more than 100 g/1VOC levels in LA Eastern, LA Western, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties.
